About us!
The idea of a full-time residence for individuals suffering from burnout was born out of necessity by one of the founders, who himself experienced burnout after a stressful career as an entrepreneur. He desperately searched for a full-time rehabilitation residence for people with burnout, both in Sweden and across the EU, but found none.
Eventually, he discovered a few farms and retreats in the countryside that welcomed individuals struggling with burnout. After living and volunteering at these farms and retreats and experiencing firsthand how healing it was to be part of a community close to nature, the decision became clear: more people should have the opportunity to access this kind of healing environment.
Some time later, the founder, together with these farms and retreats, began discussing the possibility of creating a housing concept where individuals suffering from burnout could rehabilitate and heal at their own pace, in a community with others facing similar challenges.
Another inspiration for our burnout recovery housing is the so-called "sober housing" collective living model developed in the USA for recovering alcoholics. In this model, around 3–6 sober individuals live together in a house, supporting each other in their journey to stay sober. This sense of community and support has shown great success in preventing relapses into addiction.
Our vision is to create a similar supportive living environment for people recovering from burnout, where they can help each other heal, avoid potential tendencies to relapse into work addiction which has often contributed to their condition and, most importantly, reduce isolation and loneliness. Burnout often leads to social withdrawal, as individuals are unable to participate in their usual social activities.
